Good afternoon, sunshines! I’m hoping that you are using this day to stay home and stay warm. Wait until this week to start venturing out into the arctic 😂😂😂
 
10,080. Ten thousand and eighty.
 
Besides just being a really big number, what is it?
 
There are 10,080 minutes in every week.
 
For most of you reading this message, I might see you for about 30 minutes per week.
 
That’s right, for most of you I’m there actively helping you for about .3 percent of your life 😂
 
When you stop to think about it, how is my help and the experience at New Day supposed to be anything but a drop in the bucket?
 
I’ve been considering the challenges and opportunities for helping you get better and better results with me in 2024, and I have some thoughts on this.
 
Non-Linear Results
 
The first thing it is important to understand is that a little of something can go a long way 🌀✨🌍
 
Especially in the body. And especially where the nervous system is concerned ✨✨✨
 
In chiropractic school I recall learning that all it takes is a DIMES WORTH of pressure on a nerve to change the the signals that are being sent 😮
 
This is why it is so important when your posture improves through care.
 
Even if you gained 1mm of height through my adjustments (which many of you have, and more), it would make a difference in your body in terms of taking pressure off the nerves and changing those signals being sent that are running your body.
 
Using the same thought process, consider how even though you might be with me at New Day a small percentage of your day/week/life, if we are taking pressure off of your nerves, even if that improvement only lasts a short time (especially at first) these changes can begin to change the trajectory in your health and your life 💗
 
Compounding interest
 
But, you might ask, if a little of Network Spinal can go a long way, then why do people keep doing it?
 
Why not just let that one adjustment do it’s magic and stop there?
 
The reason why just one adjustment isn’t going to do very much compared to receiving care regularly comes back to a super relevant analogy.
 
Have you ever heard of compounding interest? 💰
 
In investing, if you regularly invest (often small) amounts of money over time, the money in your account grows.
 
It grows not just because you kept investing. And not just because what you invested accrues interest. Eventually, the INTEREST ITSELF accrues INTEREST 💰💰💰💰💰💰
 
When you come in for care and you have the experience of your nervous system improving (how do you feel that? more below!), this helps you.
 
But what starts to help you more and more is when you really get a firm sense of what this result is, and you are more and more able to feel that result in your life outside of New Day.
 
In the meantime, there’s another compounding interest-like phenomenon taking place in your body, and for many people it’s not one that’s helping them 😢
 
All of the weeks and months and years before you started seeing me, where stress, physical injuries, surgeries, medications, poor posture, poor sleep, working at a job you hate for years at a time, etc., have also built up over time. And those results are compounding as well 😱
 
If you’re in pretty rough shape when you begin your care process with me, especially at first, the adjustments definitely might feel like a drop in the bucket. That’s because the new results haven’t had a chance to compound relative to the old ones.
 
Similarly, if your life outside of New Day has been especially stressful, physically and otherwise, you need to consider this as a factor when you consider the results from your care on a week to week basis.
 
We don’t know what you’d be like if you weren’t in care
 
Sometimes, and for all of us, the results of Network Spinal might feel like they are only just barely helping us stay afloat 🚣🏽‍♀️
 
Other times we get a sense that we are gaining momentum and that the health bank-account, as it were, is growing and the interest is compounding.
 
Besides looking at potential changes from your periodic reassessments with me. . . how do you actually know if you’re getting better? 🤔🤔🤔
 
Here’s the challenge. And honestly I think this is a big reason why there isn’t more scientific research on the results of alternative health and wellness modailities; we don’t know what you’d be like if you weren’t coming in for care.
 
We don’t have another version of you who has been on the other trajectory, the one where you don’t come in for care for your spine and nervous system and you otherwise continue on with your life.
 
In the absence of a George Bailey moment where you suddenly and  miraculously get to see what your life would be like without Network Spinal and New Day, we don’t really know.
 
So I’ll shoot this question back to you. Have you ever left New Day with better posture? In a better frame of mind? More aware of your body and what it needs? ✨
 
Have you ever then taken action based on what you felt or noticed? Or not taken an action that you normally would do? Or changed what or how you were doing something or interacting with someone? Had a helpful new idea or realization? ✨✨
 
Especially if you’ve been seeing me for more than a few months, I would be VERY SURPRISED if you couldn’t answer the questions above with either specific instances of this happening, or just with an overwhelming knowing that the work we do with you here helps you in your life in a very real sense ✨☀️💓🌍
 
Continuing to refine the fundamentals
 
I am a big believer that the secret to continued and never ending improvement is to continue to refine the fundamentals.
 
How can you do that?
 
Well for one thing, you’re reading this message.
 
I write these messages with the specific intent to help you get more and more out of this experience and better and better results for you and as a community.
 
When you stay connected with me in this way, your doing this is helping re-infuse your moment and your day with some of the same results from your recent adjustment (your nervous system is awesome like that!) ☕☕☕
 
Plus, the information and perspective I share is meant to help you take what we are doing deeper at your next adjustments.
 
Next, there are the workshops and events. Intro to Care is meant to be a big help in this process, as is the Focused Breath Workshop (I’m scheduling one soon!), and other group experiences that I create with you in mind 🤗
 
Refining the fundamentals is also a big part of what  the recent Reassessment-Palooza was all about.
 
As part of that process, I had asked in a questionnaire how you would rate yourself in terms of your ability to get “results”, both on the table and outside of New Day 💥
 
Notably, I did not define what I meant by “results” and left it open to your own personal interpretation.
 
I hinted at the “results” in my writing above, but I thought it might be helpful to make a video where I spell it out. I made this off the cuff a couple weeks ago (it was on New Years eve actually– that’s why I look so fancy!)
