All about Taylor 💗

Good afternoon, sunshine-on-a-cloudy-day 😍☀️

Seriously though, I was just outside wearing boots and a winter coat WTH 🤦‍♀️ #midwestliving

For those of you who come in for care on Tuesday mornings, Thursday nights, and now also on Saturday mornings, you may have come across Taylor ☀️

Or you might not have yet, because she might have been tucked away in my office helping me text you sunshines back and schedule your appointments 💕

Taylor has been assisting me part time with many things, including keeping me caught up with your correspondences, staying on top of things while I’m with clients, putting blogs on my website, social media, and events 💌👯‍♀️🖥️📸✨

She’s been helping me since last fall, but I’ve never properly introduced her until now! I’m SO GLAD this is finally happening!!

As you might imagine, there are some potential obstacles to hiring someone to work in a space like New Day 🛑

The main issue is that I need someone with an awesome energy who doesn’t kill the vibe! 🙏✨💗

(I’ve been lucky to have had a lot of amazing employees over the years, as some of you Bright Souls who’ve been with me since the old office can probably remember!)

Taylor brings an incredible energy, focus, and creativity in supporting me and all of us at New Day! (For example, she’s spearheading a new effort around featuring one outstanding Sunshine in our blog and social media every month) 💥💥💥

She’s also multi-talented, working as a photographer, yoga and meditation instructor, with kids at a summer camp, and more ⛺️🧘‍♀️📸

Make sure to pop back to the small office and say “hi” to her if she’s ever here when you are here!

I have a little interview with her here for you to enjoy as well! ✨✨✨

Q1: What lead you to New Day?

Answer: My sister was actually the one who first introduced me to New Day.

When she explained what Dr. Katie does during the appointments, I was definitely in the “I’ll believe it when I see it” mindset. But once I went with her and just watched her during a session, I instantly fell in love with the entire experience.

I’ve always understood that we’re made up of energy that holds onto information—but learning how this practice actually helps realign your nervous system was something completely new to me. It opened my eyes in such a powerful way.

The energy at New Day is incredible. The moment you walk through the doors, it’s like stepping into sunshine and magic.

Maybe it’s the sun catchers by the windows, or maybe it’s the beautiful healing vortex that this space holds—but you can truly feel the good juju all around you. It’s something special.

at the Appreciation Day last September!

Q2: What is your favorite part of working at New Day?

Answer:  I mean… if it’s not the magic vortex you feel the moment you walk through the door, I don’t know what else it could be! There’s just something so special about New Day—it’s truly a space I love coming to.

Since working with Dr. Katie, I’ve become so much more self-aware, and I’ve realized how important it is to surround myself with the kind of energy I want to embody. And New Day is exactly that.

In addition to being the assistant at New Day, I’m also a full-time photographer and yoga instructor.

Before stepping fully into photography, I was the head trainer and operations manager at a HIIT training facility—and I absolutely loved every minute of it. The energy, the clients, the transformation—I truly live for being part of people’s journeys.

Over the years, I’ve taught just about every group fitness class you can think of—bootcamp, cycling, strength training, yoga.

These days, I’m more rooted in the slower, mindful side of movement, teaching yoga and leading meditation. That shift is exactly what drew me to New Day and inspired the path I’m currently on.

I’m now working toward becoming a certified yoga therapist, and I have big dreams of expanding into other holistic healing modalities.

I’m passionate about exploring things like EFT tapping, acupuncture, and other mind-body practices. One step at a time, I’m chasing those dreams.

Q3: Jethro, or Andy?

Answer: Honestly, I love them both—but I see Andy more often, so those baby blue eyes just get me every time. I mean, how can you not just fall into them?

That said, I’ve got green eyes myself, so Jethro’s contrast? Chef’s kiss.

I really can’t pick… I want to say Andy, but then I remember this super cute selfie I took with Jethro one time and—ugh, it’s impossible! Let’s just say my heart’s torn in the sweetest way.

Q4: What do you like to do for fun?

Answer: I’m all about being outside—sunshine, fresh air, nature, all of it.

With a Capricorn rising, I definitely lean into that earthy side. I love being surrounded by flowers, laying in the grass, just looking up at the sky or getting lost in the trees. It’s where I feel most at home.

I’m also the friend who’s almost always down to try something new. Whether it’s something chill or a little wild.

Farmers markets and local festivals are my thing, and now that Chicago summer is here, I’m ready for all of it. Oh, and if there’s a good cover band playing? I’m in—no questions asked.
