Where the focus goes, the energy flows

Don’t get hijacked

Good morning, New Day lovelies ☀️

It’s now our third week of getting settled into the new practice space on Floral Ave 💐💐💐

Here’s what’s good about it: it’s bright, it’s light, it’s pretty. Everything in it is new. There is something so special about really starting fresh. Nothing I look at has any association with any past person, circumstance, or time in my or New Day’s existence.

Also, I like the size of the space. It feels like a more appropriately sized container for the work that is happening here. It feels more cozy and intimate.

ALSO have I mentioned all the time I have back in my life now that I’m not waking up at the crack of dawn, preparing food for meals later that day, heading to the gym, and then heading to New Day until night fall?

Instead, my meal prepping and eating, workouts, and working with clients are all part of a more seamless flow. I get to see my husband and talk to him more regularly.

My cat Jethro even pops in to say “hi” to me on rare occasion 🐈🐈🐈

And yet. . . MY GOD how easy it is to focus on problems!

Take yesterday for example. I was excited to meet with my interior designer Dawn for some more final touches (if you were here the last couple of weeks to see the “Alabama side table” I had constructed for the BEMER, you’ll know what I mean 😂)

She brought over a bunch of items to help continue the decorating process, and this would have all been a lot of fun.

Except that toward the end of this meeting we BROKE the leg to the couch in the front of the adjusting room 😂😂😂

“That’s how it is around here,” I later found myself summarizing ruefully. “It’s two steps forward, and one step back” 😩🎻😿

Was that the story I really wanted to take away from all of this (and therefore project onto my future in this new practice?) 😱

I see this phenomenon all too often with New Day practice members in their care.

You miss a week of care due to a vacation. Then the next week you try calling the office, but no one answers.

In a particularly energy poor moment of frustration, you find yourself thinking, “This is a waste. I missed all this care I paid for, and she’s not even picking up the phone! Not to mention that, but she moved her office. Is Network Spinal even helping me? I probably shouldn’t even be doing this.”

Where the focus goes. . . yep you know the second half of the sentence by now. The saying conveys the overall reality that we find more of what we focus on.

It’s one thing to have a negative reaction to something in the moment.

Rescuing yourself before you get hijacked though is key 🌀

Here are my tips for doing that.

“Field of possibility”

Try finding a pattern interruption 💥

Find something– a word, phrase, idea, visual, or a smell that reminds you of how much bigger your life and purpose are than whatever is happening.

It can be hard to find something like this when you’re energy poor and in a negative frame of mind. This is why it’s important to outsmart your future self and think ahead. Sprinkle such reminders all around you so that they are more likely to help you when you need it.

For your pattern interruption to work, it needs to be something resonant, which usually means RECENT. Your dusty old vision board from 2 years ago isn’t going to cut it. Whatever you use to interrupt your addictive, negative patterns probably needs to be something recent so that it feels relevant.

As examples, let me show you a couple of helpful pattern interruptions that worked on me today!

One (above) is from a practice I learned from Sue Schemper is called “Soul Collage”. I made this soul collage card recently and keep it by my computer in the office so that it can help me when needed. (I named this one “Field of Possibility”!!) ✨🦭✨

Next, as some of you know I have this fun deck of cards called the Deck of Character. I happened to draw this card at the beginning of last week and I left it laying out (for me to see today!):

This is the meaning of this card (from The Deck of Character website): “The Universe is one of the most powerful cards in The Deck of Character. Just like the magic of the planets revolving around the sun, it usually arrives when your destiny is coming into perfect, divine alignment. Pay attention to your circumstances at this current moment; you are likely not far from your greater calling at this time.

The Universe is a good reminder of just how expansive and grand our reality is. We have limitless possibilities at our fingertips. You are a part of a bigger whole, playing your divine role in this greater cosmos. Honor this tremendous life force that connects us all.”

I also feel like this card is literally channeling Donny from my experience at the Gate, y’all!! 😂💓👐

Anyway, those are just two examples of some pattern interruptions– little anchors to recent energy-rich moments– that helped me today. And who knows, maybe they’ll help you too (you’re connected to me, so what’s resonant for me might also be healing for you too!)

And finally– do you know what the biggest pattern interruption I know of is???

GETTING YOUR SPINE ADJUSTED through Network Spinal care 💥💥💥

This care gives you access to a different, energy-rich idea of yourself and your life and situations.

Scheduling it every week is a way for you to outsmart your future self (most people don’t always have the presence of mind to choose to come in for an appointment when they’re in the middle of their own negative self-talk and energy-poor ways of experiencing).

Practice members tell me all the time about the bright ideas they have had during and after adjustments, and during periods when they’re getting care regularly. This isn’t an accident! This is kind of the whole point of you seeing me, actually 😊

Make sure to get yourself on the schedule, if you aren’t! I look forward to seeing you today, tomorrow, and Thursday for your care 💖
