I definitely won’t be changing my last name!

I definitely won’t be changing my last name!

Rays?!?  Who knew!

I have heard it said that knowledge is a poor substitute for experiencing.

And you would probably agree.

After all, how many times have you read up extensively and prepared for something only to have the “knowing” do nothing to prepare you for the real life experience?

Ideally, knowledge and experience can work synergistically, either opening us up to a new experience or by expanding our sense of an experience we are already having.

Here’s an example.  I recently learned something from a mentor about Network Spinal (the kind of chiropractic I practice at New Day) that I had NEVER HEARD BEFORE.  Not in all my 10+ years of seminars and classes.

Ok, that’s not so strange.  In fact, it almost seems at times as if Donny SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED Network Spinal so that the practitioner will never really feel like they know or understand it all 😂😂😂

The strange thing is that this something that I learned is that there is something in Network called the “Ray,” or collectively, the “Rays.”

How could someone with the last name “Ray” never have heard of this?!

But the thing that I found really remarkable is not just the name, but how much knowing this concept has opened me up to even greater experiences with our practice members in the adjusting room.

Let me break it down for you.

So when you’re on the table and I’m analyzing and checking what’s going on with your spine and nervous system, a big part of what I’m checking for is spinal cord tension, specifically which one or ones of several patterns of spinal cord tension is limiting your body and it’s innate ability to function, adapt, and be healthy.  This determines where and how I adjust you.

This checking for what we call the “phase” (confusing name, just think of it as tension) is a huge part of what we do as chiropractors practicing Network Spinal.  We begin to learn this day 1 in learning to practice the technique.

The Ray is like the flip side of the tension coin.

Whereas the spinal cord tension pattern is showing us the limitation on your nervous system and highlighting the disconnection and blockages between your brain and body, the Ray is the consciousness that is trying to express (but is currently limited).

💥💥💥

I have learned that the main Rays working to express through our nervous systems have to do with 1) being able to trust in the timing of life, 2) being able to trust in relationships and intimacy, 3) being able to go beyond cultural expectations and break the mold, 4) being able to be passionate, and 5) being able to experience abundance.

So why am I telling you all of this?

Well first of all I want you to know that I am always learning.

New Day and my care never stay stagnant.  As Donny says, the nervous system needs novelty.  And I am here to help us have that, both in our knowing, and in our experiencing.

Second, even though I am a big believer that you no more need to understand my care or Network for it to “work” than you need to understand electricity to turn on the lights, this is an understanding that I hope will really light you up the next time you’re on the table.

After all, isn’t it much more inspiring to think of our work together as me helping you experience even more of something good inherent in you, the Ray, rather than reducing or getting rid of something bad? ✨✨✨

I look forward to seeing you for your adjustments this week (and turning up the volume on all the Rays seeking expression through your spine and nervous system).
