Stumbling along . . .

Stumbling along . . .

Helpful reminder: no one “knows how to do this” (including me)

Good evening, New Day!

Don’t you sometimes just feel a bit like a stumbling toddler right now?  Careening about.  Tumbling over.  Screaming and crying. Needing to lay down.  LOL

I got a good reminder today in a zoom meeting for the women’s networking group I am part of (Women Belong, if you want to check it out!).

“No one knows how to do this.  We’re all just stumbling along,” said one of the group founders.

By “do this,” she of course meant surviving, sustaining, thriving during a pandemic, quarantine, lockdown, social media blitzkrieg, social justice protest movement, and sporadic possibility for damage and looting.

Not only should we be kind to ourselves, but to others who are, just like us, learning and “stumbling along.”

This is a good reminder for me, I know!  As I have found myself triggered by people, viewpoints, and statements that I never would have expected would come to feel like the bane of my existence.

Take for example, this ubiquitous meme from social media.  Most people, I would imagine, have come across this multiple times in the past 3 months.

Mere weeks ago, this quote occurred for me as the helpful, enlightened perspective of someone who trusts life and embraces change.

And today, it suddenly feels like the grating, chiding remarks of apologists for the “new normal.” 😂😂😂

You might totally disagree– or agree!  (Let me know by commenting below!)

Now just doesn’t feel like a great time to be telling other people what to think, say, or do to prove that they know the “right” way to be.

Similarly, BLM, which is the social justice movement for our time and literally the silver lining of the last 3 months, can all too easily start to feel like another minefield for making people right or wrong (Stage 2, anyone?).

Today, I surrender to stumbling, and careening through.  I even give up telling people that THEY are wrong for seemingly trying to make me wrong.  Let’s just laugh and eat crackers.  At least for tonight <3

Thanks so much for your continued engagement.  You make this community so special for everyone, especially me, Virginia, Diane, and Diana.  Looking forward to hearing from you and seeing you this week. ✨✨✨
