Staying energy rich in the time of corona

Staying energy rich in the time of corona

We are OPEN

Good evening, New Day community near and far!

Just a little update here as to what’s going on at New Day during these weird and uncertain times.  Thank you for opening!

First, I wish to share that for the forseeable future, we will remain OPEN.

Chiropractic in Illinois and most other places is continuing to be categorized as an essential healthcare service, meaning that we are permitted to stay open provided we follow CDC guidelines for sanitation and hygiene (I will say more on what we are doing below).  If this status changes, we will close the office and notify you immediately.

We are very happy that our stand is being affirmed, which is that our care is neither optional nor a luxury, and is actually necessary for a healthy life.  Especially in these times, when stress, anxiety, sedentary lifestyles, and addictive behaviors are bound to be at an all-time high, we are happy for the opportunity to serve our community as we are able.

Being at the office over the past week has had it’s challenges for us, especially for Molly who is new in the role of Coordinator of Care at the front desk (and rocking it already!).

Despite the challenges, we have been heartened by our practice members who have shared how happy they are to have this care available to them now when they want and need it most, and that our office is a much-needed oasis of health for them.

Of course every one of us must weigh the risks and benefits of human contact at this point.  Those with lowered immunity and/or those over age 60, or who have daily contact with these groups most especially.

Please consider the following points:

  • We are here for you.  For many of you it’s not a matter of fear, but a matter of your schedule and life being turned upside down that has you unable to come to your appointments.  Feel free to call us day of, at the last minute, or just show up!
  • You can have peace of mind that our adjusting tables are now being wiped down in between every practice member.  We are cleaning every surface like crazy, including door knobs and handles.  And of course, lots of hand washing.
  • Limits have been imposed on how many people can be in the front office and the adjusting room at one time.(less than 10)
  • Those experiencing corona-like symptoms of any kind are not permitted to be in the office.  To our knowledge, there have not been any practice members who have tested positive for the virus.
  • In the meantime, we are looking to ways to further support our community at this time, including offering our very first virtual SRI/Focused Breath workshop this Saturday at 12:30PM (more on this below!)
  • We will also be shifting our Business Networking Happy Hour to a virtual format as well (more on this below too!)
  • We are considering ways we may be able to support our community and neighbors creatively in these difficult times.  Especially those who work in the food service industry and others who are losing their jobs and/or negatively impacted during this crisis.  If you have ideas, please share them with us!
  • Along the same lines, we are looking to partner with organizations and businesses around the neighborhood that are being negatively impacted financially at this time so that we may support each other as best we can.

It is my sincere hope and prayer that the gift of the “time of corona” may be to give us clarity about the things that MUST change now– economically, socially, culturally, and in health care– and to further reveal our inherent interconnectedness to the all, through opportunities for humans to be at their best in their sharingness, love, and humor.
