Meet Tammy, newest member of our New Day team

Even though you may have already met in person at New Day, or outside of New Day, I wanted to take a moment to formally introduce you to our newest New Day team member!  She may be a new, or a familiar face 🙂

Tammy started her care over a year ago, and I have always known her to be a thoughtful, caring, and intelligent person.  In addition to working part time as an energy healer, she also is a gifted writer and has her own writing business.  Because of these qualities, I knew she would be a great addition to the front office, and has been helping us on Saturdays and covering for Amber.

Here, Tammy shares her answers to some questions to help you get to know her more.

How were you first introduced to New Day?
My friend Joe from church invited me to one of the community dinners and I was impressed by all the testimonials of the practice members.

What’s your favorite part about helping our practice members and supporting Dr. Katie?
I’m always thrilled to see people try healing modalities that may be hard to explain but that work on many surprising levels. I believe in Dr. Katie’s work and admire people who make their self-care a priority and are committed to being their best selves. These are the people I love to be around and want to support in any way I can!

In addition to being part of the New Day community, you are also live in the Lincoln Square area as well.  What are your current favorite neighborhood gems for eating, drinking, or otherwise having fun?
I love the atmosphere at Band of Bohemia. It’s a great place to grab a drink. For dinner, Gather is always a treat. And the two places I probably go to the most for lunch are Cafe Selmarie and Jerry’s, where you can get any sandwich on gluten-free bread!

You also have a successful career as a writer.  What do you like reading for fun or that inspires you in your work?
I read a wide variety of stuff! I’m usually reading something spiritual or inspirational. I love anything by Alan Cohen and just finished Michael Singer’s two books, The Untethered Soul and The Surrender Experiment. For fiction, I just finished Moon Over Paris and am now reading Young Men And Fire by Norman Maclean; it’s a timely and fascinating book considering the fires raging out west.
