This is where your stress comes from

This is where your stress comes from

And this is the antidote!

Good morning, New Day! I hope you’re enjoying this sunshine and starting your week off brightly ☀️

I had a fun weekend of having dinner with friends and doing some shopping to prep for my upcoming Peru trip (not this week, not next week, but the week AFTER (see below))  🥾⛰️✨🦙

Since I am new to the hiking scene I decided to hit REI. What a great store!

I came in feeling like a total outsider, and I left REI feeling like I am now part of a special group! (I hope people have that feeling coming here to New Day, by the way!) ☀️💓🌍

Speaking of which– why am I going on this trip?

As I’ve mentioned I’m going with a group I’m part of that I’ve been doing spiritual work with for the past 2 years.

Though I am going to Peru, I am NOT actually going to Machu Picchu. We ARE going to many other sacred sites including the Pachamama Temple at Moray, Chinchero, The Temple of the Winds at Ollantaytambo and The Temple of the Visionary at Pisaq.

Also, I am not going to Peru to do ayahuasca!

Nothing against people doing it, but it’s just not a priority for me.

Honestly I sometimes feel like I’m disappointing some people when they find out that I’m not going to Machu Picchu OR doing ayahuasca 😂😂😂 (not you, other people!)

Why I felt drawn to go on this trip with this group is that it is part of my spiritual path in life. Engaging in such activities helps me become even more sensitive to the energies that create our experiences.

The Shamanistic view of life can be considered “Animistic.” Animism can be defined as a belief that there is a soul of the universe, in animals, plants, bodies of water, mountains, basically everything natural.

I’ve benefitted a lot from doing this work over the past couple of years, consciously strengthening my connection to and relationship to the earth 🏞️

It probably makes sense to you that I would be doing some sort of spiritual work, given the work that I do with you at New Day.

You might not know this (but some of you do!), but chiropractic itself is a vitalistic and spiritual philosophy.

Traditional chiropractic philosophy holds that is 1) there is an unlimited intelligence in the universe and 2) that everything is connected in such a way so that that intelligence can express at all times. Blockages in that flow of intelligence are aberrations and create all experiences of stress, symptoms, and illness 🧠✨🌅💞

Because much of what we are taught and experience currently on our planet — disconnection, separation, randomness, unwanted events and calamity, etc.–  informs our view of life, it might feel a little surprising (or even threatening), even right now, to read about “intelligence” and how this is central to chiropractic philosophy.

As I have always said, it is not necessary that you “believe in” or “know” or “agree with” anything intellectually for chiropractic or Network Spinal to work for you! 😊

My work here is to give you an EXPERIENCE of yourself as whole, connected, and part of something bigger. YOU (and your nervous system and spine healthy) ARE the antidote to the mechanistic experience of life 💥🌍💥💗💥

No matter what you believe, spiritually or otherwise, and no matter what you normally focus on when you are outside of New Day, this is the case.

This book is the gift that keeps on giving!

Deepak Chopra in Quantum Healing (yup, STILL getting goodies from this book!), argues that belief in a random universe reigns supreme in our society. “And a random universe is inherently a stressful universe.” (my emphasis!)

Just consider it! Next time you’re stressed by what’s happening in your body, or in an email, or with your partner, consider whether a belief in a random universe, where something could ever happen to you that is outside of and separate from the tapestry of life, is part of what makes this situation stressful.

If you let it, chiropractic and Network Spinal care are here to effortlessly lay the groundwork for a MUCH less stressful experience (which makes change and improvement MUCH easier, by the way!).

Thank you for engaging with me in my thoughts about this, New Day! I look forward to seeing you this week, next week, NOT the week after, but also after I get back from Peru 🥾⛰️✨🦙☀️💓🌍
