“Lopsided” no more??

“Lopsided” no more??

Trial run for upcoming schedule additions

(your input is needed!)

Do you ever wonder why my “hours of operation” are what they are?

Do you ever look at my adjusting hours at New Day and think, “Why can’t she just see me earlier?” (or later, or on a different day).

Or you may even catch yourself thinking, “Must be nice! What does she do during all the rest of the time?” (I’m actually not convinced any of you think this. BUT I know FOR SURE that I used to think thoughts like this about my chiropractor before I became a chiropractor 😅😱🙏)

There are a couple things I want to share about the schedule, if you are interested in learning, before I let you know about an upcoming change that I will want your feedback on.

First of all, the “hours of operation,” which you will find on Google or on my website, are merely the hours that I see my regular clients (there’s nothing regular about you! I just mean that you’re not new and you come in regularly!) for their weekly care.

There are also what I call “special appointments.” Special Appointments include someone’s first appointment with me ever (a whopping 90 minutes), second appointments or “follow ups,” reassessments and follow ups for “regular” clients (happening in person and on zoom) are special appointments.

All of the special appointments happen during ALL THE OTHER TIMES.

So while you might be thinking “Why does she need such a long lunch break?” or “Why doesn’t she start until 10AM?”– I am actually usually working at those other times on all the special appointments.

For example, on a Tuesday it is common for me to have a special appointment at 8:30AM (I need about 45 minutes before that to set up, and get ready in case they show up early 😂).

Then, directly after that, regular adjusting hours from 10-1. Sometimes I have a special appointment at 1PM, and another one at 2:30PM. Directly after this, I’ll see clients for their regular adjustments from 4-7PM.

Then I might have a special appointment at 7PM, meaning that I am working until 8PM or later.

I’m not telling you all of this to elicit sympathy. I love this practice and this way of living life.

I’m telling you because sometimes it’s easier to remember things that seem like random details when you know the underlying logic behind it all ✨✨✨ (I personally am a big “understanding how things work” person!)

It’s a real balancing act! ⚖️

There’s the regular appointments. There’s the special appointments.

Oh yeah, and what about me answering your texts and emails? Taking your payments? Scheduling you? Marketing and going to networking meetings? Sending in tax payments and such? Social media? Writing THIS VERY email that you’re reading???

Somehow all of that is also happening during all the other times and days too 🤗

While I have adapted to working on my own and with no staff, and quite honestly prefer it, all of this still takes time.

And because of that, it has been difficult over recent years for me to add regular adjusting hours to the schedule.

And why should I add any hours, if there are days and times on my current schedule that are underutilized?

It’s because right now the week is LOPSIDED 🙃

There is wayyyy more availability at the beginning of the week. Which is fine for some people.

☀️But if you’re coming twice a week and would rather have one appointment at the beginning of the week and one at the end of the week, it may be a challenge.

☀️Also, if you are a daytime person and/or drive here from afar and cannot hack the traffic on Thursday evenings (understandable!), the current schedule has been a challenge.

☀️Saturdays are early morning and sporadic (because I’m also trying to live a somewhat normal and carefree life!), and so if you come for care weekly Saturday is of limited helpfulness.

So, here’s what I am proposing.

Over the next several weeks, I am adding adjusting hours to the schedule (for “regular” aka non-new clients) on Thursdays 10:30-12. If you want this to be happening, register your opinion by scheduling during this shift!

I have a similar short and sweet shift over lunch during the day on Wednesday which is always VERY full, so there does seem to be a demand for this 💥

Bear in mind that if it turns out that some of my Tuesday daytime people would rather come on Thursday, that’s great but I may end up eventually cutting daytime hours on Tuesday.

If you have some other strong opinion about a time when you would like regular adjusting hours, please email me here! Right now my priority is recalibrating the beginning and the end of the week as a help to you, and me, with the weekly flow 💕

Otherwise, do your scheduling! And I will be excited to see what transpires ✨💛✨
