Feel your breath change

Good morning, New Day sunshiners! Thank you opening!
As many of you know, I am hosting a Focused Breath workshop at New Day this Saturday. This is the first one at the new place, and just the first one in a long time anyway!
I find that lots of people can connect with the idea that the might want or need to do some breath work practices.
π You might notice that your breath is shallow or tense sometimes
π You might have read or experienced that “belly breathing” or diaphragmatic breathing or diaphragmatic breathing is more relaxing for the nervous system
π You might have heard the breath might beΒ a good way to increase Vagal tone (so is Network Spinal care by the way!)
π You have found yourself saying, “this Network Spinal care thing seems like it might be helping me. . . but I don’t notices the changes outside of the office yet. Maybe I should be doing something at home to help further my progress” (YES!! THIS!!! πππ)
There are MANY different techniques and schools of thought out there around the breath and breathwork practices.
The techniques that I use and teach are my adaptation of Donny Epstein’s Somato Respiratory Integration technique. Yes, he created Network Spinal care, and he created a system of breathwork exercises.
How do you know which one or ones are best for you?
Well, you’re already connected to Network Spinal care through me and New Day, so chances are pretty high that you’ll find my Focused Breath work beneficial since it will be congruent.

I feel that I’m being a little vulnerable posting this, since I made this video as part of a small group I was part of a couple of years ago and never pictured myself sending it out to the whole community πππ
This is me doing a 3-minute version of the “Stage 2” exercise a couple of years ago
I am WILLING TO BET that even if you press play on this video and DO NOT do the actual exercise along with me, and even if you only watch 30 seconds of it, you will notice your own breath and posture changing!

By virtue of something we all have by virtue of being human called “mirror neurons”, we can easily see and feel what others are seeing and feeling just by watching them.
We make use of this at New Day with our events, small group workshops, and the group adjusting room. We are all meant to share the benefits of our adaptable nervous systems and high energy states together! π
So try it out– even just a couple of seconds of this video and even with you not consciously trying to mimic me as you watch. It’s a great way to find out how quick it can be to get a change (stop “working on” and start doing, right?)
