“What else should I be doing for my health (besides chiropractic)??”

“What else should I be doing for my health (besides chiropractic)??”

There is no replacement for Network Spinal chiropractic care ✨
AND Network Spinal does not replace anything else 😊

Good day to you, New Day!

Thank you for opening this message 💓

Today I’d like to address a question I get asked a lot, especially by clients after they’ve been with us for a few months.

Can you, and should you, do other forms of care outside of New Day? Or is it best to focus on one thing at a time?

And what about working on improving your diet and exercise?

What would I (as your chiropractor and advocate for you to be in the driver’s seat in your own health) recommend for you??? 🤓

Being healthy, energized, and alive– it’s an inside job

My care for you is designed to help you continue to experience yourself, more and more, as the health machine that you were meant to be, actively involved in creating your own experience of your body and your life 🤗

As you continue to experience yourself this way, you may find that you are becoming increasingly aware of, and excited about, all the MANY possibilities for increased health and vitality that there are out there– product lines, nutrition, therapists, retreats, and coaches (oh my!) 🌀🌀

On the flip side of the coin, you are also, hopefully, becoming more and more aware of approaches and therapies that are NOT supportive to you becoming an even healthier and more self-actualized person 💥💥💥

Seriously, this is one of the many ways that Network Spinal care actually SAVED me money over the years. I was able to break my addiction to episodic, knee-jerk, and quite frankly very often FEAR BASED purchases of products, services, vitamins, etc, that probably weren’t doing much of anything for me 😂😂😂

There is no replacement for Network Spinal chiropractic care.

Yup, there is a reason why I choose to practice this form of care, and it’s because I think it does the most for the most people of anything I’ve ever seen ✨✨✨

AND Network Spinal does not replace anything else. So it makes sense that there are other ways that you can and should be addressing your overall health.

It may be the case that you feel overwhelmed by all the choices available out there. Especially when you are newer to New Day 💓

This is why I often do not recommend other forms of care or practitioners to you when you start your care process with me. Even if it’s something I think would ultimately benefit you. I just don’t want to overwhelm you and dilute your focus.

And I also want you to have the opportunity to get your brain and body WORKING PROPERLY through your spine and nervous system so that you will be in a better position to benefit from those supportive modalities and lifestyle changes 😊

Now might be a great time to add a regimen or a practitioner to your healing team.

Especially if you’ve been with me for a few months and may be transitioning from doing care at New Day intensively, to a less frequent care regimen because your spine and nervous system have gotten so much better over the months ✨☀️💓

If you are newer to New Day, you can talk to me at your first reassessment (or anytime) about other recommendations for your health that I may have for you in addition to your care with me.

To get you started, I’m going to share a few ideas below 💥

Please keep in mind that this list that I’m sharing here is BY NO MEANS exhaustive.

I have been blessed to work with personally, and know sometimes through you and our clients, amazing practitioners to help you with just about any aspect of health you can think of (it does take a village, believe me!).

These are some great places to start if you are looking to add nutrition, weight loss, exercise, work with your emotions and mental health, or massage and other body work to your life 🤗💃👨‍👧‍👧

Nutrition and Personal Care

Lydia Gray– Arbonne

Have you heard of Arbonne? It’s a pretty cool company that makes green beauty and personal care products, as well as a nutrition line.

I’m so happy to have known Lydia Gray for the past 9 years.

You can learn about and buy these products from Lydia. There are actually a couple of other people I know who represent Arbonne, but I’ve known Lydia the longest of them.

As you might imagine, as a chiropractor with my own practice, I am CONSTANTLY being pitched to by health and wellness products companies and people in direct-sales who want to sell to me and my clients. And I am very choosy!

Lydia is a rare gem in that I not only do I use and wholeheartedly endorse her product line (my favorites are the makeup, the hand lotion, and the protein powder), but she’s also just a great person to know. I’m always excited for people to get connected with her.

You can go to Lydia’s website to learn more about her and her products, including the highly recommended 30 Days to Healthy Living program (and you might just see her around New Day as well!)

Tomato Mountain Farm CSA

In-Season Vegetables | Seasonal Selection | A Guide

I am a huge believer in eating lots of locally grown vegetables.

Having vegetables from an organic farm delivered to my house weekly has been a key part of my ability to be at my healthiest.  I’ve been using Tomato Mountain for the past 8 years.

Tomato Mountain is a farm in Wisconsin that offers a CSA program (you support this farm and they support you!)

You can also make special orders of farm-raised, cage free eggs, cheeses, and other treats with your membership!

Prolon Fasting Mimicking Diet

I have done quite a bit of studying on nutrition, both while I was in school and on my own.

But it wasn’t until fairly recently that I learned more about the benefits of fasting.

Prolon is a special 5-day “Fasting Diet” that allows you to access the myriad health benefits of fasting in a way that is very safe and, I believe for many, psychologically easier to do.

I have now done Prolon many times and would recommend almost anyone try it and potentially start using it one or more times per year.

Stretching, Strengthening, and Posture

Egoscue Method

I became aware of Egoscue 5-6 years ago through attending a Tony Robbins event. Soon thereafter a New Day practice member introduced me to Brandon of Egoscue Chicago.

I’ve been working with him ever since!

Egoscue method is similar to physical therapy in that the focus is on providing you with a prescriptive exercise and stretching program.

In my experience, I have found Egoscue to do more to look at the big picture with posture and the body than most PT that I have seen or heard of.

When Brandon works with me, he analyses my body posture, gait, and any specific complaints I have and then creates a personalized routine to daily exercises to help get your body back into balance.

This work is VERY congruent with and supportive of the care you are already doing at New Day.

Physical Therapy

Dr. Megan Robertson, PT, DPT

PTs and Chiropractors. . . we often have our differences. So it’s rare for a PT and a chiropractor to wholeheartedly endorse one another, but that’s what I’ve found with Megan Robertson. We are on the same page!

Megan specializes in pelvic floor work, but is qualified and experienced in caring for people with all types of conditions and challenges.

Emotional, Mental, and Spiritual Healing

Joan Coletto Hypnotherapy and Spiritual Counseling

I love Joan!

Joan works with clients on mental, emotional, and spiritual blockages with a body-based form of hypnotherapy.

I have found this work very helpful for myself personally, and I have recommended Joan to many clients from New Day over the years.

Starla Sholl Psychotherapy

Feel like you need therapy?

Or maybe you’ve tried therapy and not found it beneficial so far.

I bet Starla can help!

Although I have not worked with Starla personally, I know many people who have and swear by her, including 2 of my close friends.

She says, “I believe that we are all “fellow travelers” on this journey called life. Helping is my passion. Trust, care, inspiration, and humor are my values. And I believe that talking can help.”

Jeff Jones– Reclaim your Joy!

I’m a big believer in coaching. I think if there’s a change you’ve been wanting to make in your life, working with a life-coach can really save you a lot of time, and probably money, in helping you to make it happen sooner.

There are a lot of life coaches out there, and some very good ones. Jeff is one of the best!

He is an abundance trainer who is certified as an alcohol and other drug abuse counselor, clinical hypnotherapist and transpersonal life coach.

Massage Therapy

Heather Fraelick, LMT

I am blessed to have worked with Heather Fraelick for many years.

She’s a massage therapist who has trained and is well versed in several different types of body work.

Where she really shines, in my opinion, is in her practice of a special form of bodywork called Myofascial Release.

Myofascial release is different from traditional massage therapy. It involves a methodical and systematic pressing, pulling, and stretching of specific areas of the fascia (the layer beneath the skin that goes around and between muscles).

In my experience, the work really helps me “plug in” to my body in a way supports my continued transformation.

Heather is so sought after that she can be hard to schedule with. She recently added an associate practitioner, Elsa, so that more clients can schedule Myofascial Release.

Check out Heather and book an appointment here.

Aline Delpierre, LMT

Looking for massage?

Aline is a massage therapist who I have not worked with personally, but I have gotten rave reviews about her from New Day clients. She is very experienced, caring, and intuitive.

Exercise Programs

Tracy Anderson Method

As you may know, I am very enthusiastic about exercise! Over the years I have participated in many, many different types of workouts and training.

Right now, I have been doing Tracy Anderson Method online studio for the past 2 years, and I’ve been loving the results.

Tracy Anderson’s program is different than anything else I have ever done, both in terms of the movements and exercises themselves, and the big picture with the work.

The other reason I recommend this to New Day practice members is that I find that I feel even more plugged in to my spine and related to my body through this work as well.

You can access a 2 week free trial by clicking here.
