What does that mean for us?
Good afternoon, New Day! We hope you are enjoying the seasonally appropriate weather 🙂
Most of our community, I’m sure, has been keeping an eye on the happenings with covid-19 as it relates to Chicago. If you’ve seen any news over the past few weeks, you certainly know that covid cases are spiking.
What does that mean for us? How worried should we be?
I discuss my thoughts, and what we are doing at New Day, here in this video (if you are interested)!
If you don’t want to watch a video, I’ll discuss my main points below as well 🙂
I’ll begin by saying that we completely understand your concerns and trepidations. We are entering a period of great uncertainty. And the idea that hospitals may become overwhelmed by severe cases is very concerning.
We understand that the public health imperatives– to distance and wear masks– are a component in helping reduce the number of people who are in the hospitals at this time.
Also continue to consider that taking care of ourselves, specifically a healthy diet, supplementation, exercise, sunshine, gratitude, and holistic, wellness oriented care such as what we provide, is essential.
Especially 9 months into a pandemic, it literally is not an option for most of us (I know this is true for me anyway) to abandon healthy habits and routines.
We are so happy that we get to be a part of that for so many of you.
Chiropractic continues to be considered essential healthcare, and we encourage you to continue your care at this time if that continues to be the right decision for you.
In addition to the measures we already have in place (which I am certain have New Day a MUCH safer environment than a grocery store, for example), Dr. Virginia and I are also getting tested for covid once a week just to stay ahead of any potential issues.
As I discuss in this video, that someone among us would be exposed to covid or would test positive is an inevitability at this point, realistically.
As long as we can continue to build our immunity with our healthy habits so that we can be at our best, continue public health prevention measures, and have the presence of mind to observe what we are choosing to focus on and what we are making it mean, we are going to be better for these experiences we are now having.
That’s what I believe, anyway. You decide what’s true and best for you, and be in alignment with that. I continue to be honored by the trust you put in myself and the New Day team, and we look forward to seeing you at your adjustments this week.
