Living in the moment 🏄

Greetings New Day community!

I was recently watching a video with people surfing, you know riding waves! It was so incredibly exhilarating to watch, along with the ease that some bring into their ride. It really got me thinking about a recent conversation I was having with a practice member – you know who you are 😉 – about life being like riding the ocean waves.

What got my attention the most about this video was the genuine presence a top-notch surfer has at any moment. How easy can it be to let the mind wander about what’s for dinner tonight, what is next on the career path, what time do the kids need to be at an event tomorrow or how to solve ALL the world issues?

Can you picture a surfer thinking about any of this while getting ready to ride a wave? Probably not. Why is that though? Is it because surfing seems like the wrong time to be thinking about all of these things? Is it because being a surfer makes someone the most present human being out there? Do surfers have something the rest of us don’t? 😉

There is definitely truth when saying surfing is not the best time to be pondering life decisions no matter how large or small. Wouldn’t you agree though there is truth to us all being aware of this chatter and for some this may happen constantly?

So why would we sell ourselves short when living our own daily lives by allowing this chatter to take over? This is the chitchat that can bring on regret about past experiences and anxious thoughts about the future.

We encourage healing through past experiences and creating plans to live your best life by being present through your daily ride.

When you are in the office, getting adjusted and improving your brain and body connection you are building strategies within your own nervous system to adapt and ride your own daily wave!

Our Facebook Live is a veritable treasure trove of Focused Breath videos with Dr. Katie and Dr. Virginia.
Practice along with us anytime, anywhere, by clicking here.

If you haven’t already, please ask us about Focused Breath exercises to assist in your healing outside of the office.

Through these exercises we reconnect the brain and body to release unproductive patterns of stress and tension, leaving you more clear and grounded.

Please share your thoughts with us on what you are currently experiencing while riding your waves.  Looking forward to seeing you for your adjustment this week!
