Community Reinvestment Day coming up!

Happy to be doing what we can from where we are

Community Reinvestment Day coming up!

Good evening, New Day!

Have i ever told you that writing these emails to you is one of the highlights of my week?  I mean it.  It’s an honor and a privilege to me that anyone cares about reading anything I have to say 😂

So.  It hasn’t been an easy past 4 months to be a small business owner with a store front.  Not at all.

And it is somewhat disconcerting to feel that others are not always open to understanding this.  In the Stage 2, polarity based view of the world you are either on the side of good or on the side of bad, and it’s that simple.

It has felt facile and opportunistic to be immediately piping up with #blacklivesmatter, when from the outside looking in it seems that business owners may be throwing up these signs simply to keep their windows from getting shattered.

My bullshit meter has been on high alert with all this going on. I mean, Nike is in supposed agreement that racism is wrong, and yet their goods are made in sweat shops.

At the same time, as many of you know, I am a long-time activist and in general a fan of flux.

When the world changes quickly, so do people’s minds, and vise versa.  And it feels good to be living in a world where, at least sometimes, ideas are elastic and changing with the circumstances and the lived experience, rather than reverting to old dogmas (which can be easy way to think in non-fluxed-up times).

I say this from my heart, and without any perceived need to opportunistically align myself with the right side– because I could also just keep quiet right now.  But #blacklivesmatter.  This is a struggle for a better tomorrow for EVERYONE.  An injury to one is an injury to all.

Let us all do what we can from where we are, and stay open and receptive to the voices, ideas, and plans that are out there.  Let us all be ready to add our voices into the mix when appropriate.

In the meantime, we had been considering about how to help our community members in need right now.

If you are a practice member who cannot seek care right now due to underemployment or unemployment, this announcement is for you.  If you haven’t heard from us yet (we are trying to reach out to folks we know need help), please reach out to us by clicking here if you need help.

We will attempt to accommodate as many as possible.

New Day Community Investment Day
(by invitation only)

Are you experiencing unemployment or underemployment as a result of the covid-19 pandemic?

Is financial hardship severely limiting your ability to receive care, when you know that you need it?

We have created a day and time for our struggling New Day community members to receive free care.

If you have not been invited, and would like to be, please email us at drkatie@newdaynsa.com.  We will attempt to accommodate as many people as possible.

Great day to you! I’m Dr. Katie Ray, founder of and chiropractor at New Day. Network Spinal™ changed my life–or I wouldn’t be writing to you about this right now!–and, 10 years since my introduction to this care, I remain an enthusiastic advocate and consumer.
