You, shining brightly!

When you choose to shine brightly, the communities you are part of will win <3

Good morning, bright and shiny New Day!

Whether you’re new to New Day, or have been part of this community and participating in Network Care for years, you’ve probably noticed that we like to use the imagery of brightness and the sun quite a bit 🙂 It was something that I personally always associated with my experience of Network Care and how it helped me in my own health and life, and hence this is the vision I wanted to share with the practice when I opened New Day.

Choosing to shine brightly doesn’t always seem easy at first.  Starting any new commitment to your health and wellness takes energy and focus.  Even the pain and discomfort of remaining the same can sometimes feel more comforting than taking responsibility for ourselves and moving into the unknown.

For some of us in this community, starting in Network Care, this life changing form of chiropractic, was an easy choice.

Maybe a friend or family member had been raving about it, and finally the time was right to check it out.

Maybe we learned about it through a coach or mentor and decided that care for the spine and nervous system lays the perfect foundation of wellness for all the other positive changes in our lives.

Maybe we might have felt only lukewarm about trying out the care, with no plans to become a practice member, but then felt such intriguing changes after the initial visit that we decided to move continue!

Or, last but certainly not least, we were in so much pain or distress that staying as we were was NOT an option, and we felt we had no choice but to move forward into Network Care and becoming a practice member at New Day.

There is so much about being in chiropractic care for your health and wellness that just makes sense when it comes to helping feel good, function well, and shine as brightly as we are meant to in life.

But in the beginning, 5 years ago, some of the things that make the most sense about this care were most likely harder to see for a lot of people.  New Day as a community was much smaller, and there was less of a “buzz” about the practice and Network Care (certainly in Chicago at least).  As I recently joked at our 5th anniversary celebration, it possibly seemed “a bit chancy” to begin this relatively unknown form of chiropractic care right in the beginning.

Those “early adopters” have played such a special role in the culture at New Day, and in everyone’s ability to have the experience they are having now.  This is why I wanted to honor them in the practice with the wall display that we unveiled at our anniversary party 2 weeks ago.

Each star on the wall represents one of our New Day practice members!

There are 13 practice members who have been part of New Day, participating in the care on an ongoing basis as part of their health and wellness, for 3 years or more. Of course, in some ways, it is a bit arbitrary to choose 3 years as the cutoff.  And if you just missed being included, don’t worry.  You will be in the future!

To me, someone who became a practice member over 3 years ago did so at a time when it might not have been such a clear and sensible choice.  And, whether they knew it or not, they became bright and shiny ambassadors for the care.  Even without necessarily talking to others about New Day, just their presence and commitment to themselves and their health through the care created the possibility for those who came later to get the same benefits, perhaps even easier and faster, as the energetic field expanded!

Now, to answer a question that you might have.  “How is it possible that there are only 13 practice members who’ve been in care over 3 years?”  It is true that at any given time, the majority of practice members at New Day have been participating in the care for longer than 3 months.  It is such a blessing, to have a practice where so many practice members understand the value of the care over time.

There are many reasons why people don’t continue to choose us as part of their wellness routines.  People move away.  People’s lives change in unexpected ways. People choose something else.  Even though we know that consistency over time is what creates the best results, I have a belief that even one adjustment to a person’s spine and nervous system can change the course of history 🙂

I expect that at our next dedication where we celebrate our bright lights who have been in the practice for over 3 years, there will be MANY more stars on that wall. And I look forward to you being one of them <3

Our dedication reads:  “Bright lights of New Day, we honor you for being shining examples of health and vitality through your ongoing commitment to the health of your spine and nervous system as an essential part of your wellness.  Thank you for choosing to shine so brightly, lighting up others as you contribute to a greater global future.”
